What are Dental Implants?
Implants are small screw-like structures made of medical Titanium designed to be fixed to the jawbone during surgery.
The Titanium implant functions just like the root of your natural teeth, it provides the base to which a crown is then attached. In the case of implants it can be one or many teeth depending on the patients requirements.
Benefits of Implants
Implants can have the same benefits as crowns, bridges and dentures in that they replace natural teeth but have the added feature of being more solidly fixed than those solutions.
They can be used to replace single missing teeth or a number of missing teeth. They can even be used in such a way to solidly attach to a full or partial plate or denture.
The statutory warning: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
